This private space is a warm and cozy peaceful place, perfect for couples, families and friends.
The house has a spectacular view of Álftavatn lake and mountain. Only 20 min drive from the Golden Circle and other tourist attractions. If you love nature and peace this is the place for you!
The space
The house (60 sqm) has 2 bedrooms and accommodates 4 people.
Bedroom 1: 1 x queen size bed.
Bedroom 2: 1 x queen size bed.
Living room: 2 sofas, tv, internet, apple tv, dining table and chairs for 4 persons.
Kitchen: fridge, freezer, oven, electric hub, nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher.
Bathroom: wc, sink and small storage unit.
Shower: We have a compact shower located within the bathroom, and additionally, we offer an outdoor shower for use during the summer season
Outdoor: Hot tub, shower, bbq, outdoor dining table (only summer time).
Other shower solutions are the swimming pools in the neighborhood. About 10 min drive to the Minniborgir swimming pool that has a children’s pool, hot tub, jacuzzi, water slide and a sauna. Selfoss is also an option.
Equipped with all the necessary comfort, you can cook or relax in the veranda overlooking lake Álftavatn.
Guest access
You have access to the whole house, its garden. The accommodation sits right in the middle of the Famous Golden Circle, where several attractions, such as Þingvellir National Park, Geysir, Gullfoss and Kerid Crater, can be enjoyed. Guests can also entertain themselves with various activities on the lake or walking some of the hiking paths of the area. This is also a perfect place to enjoy the Northern lights (from September to April).
The hot tub offers natural hot spring water and a view of mountains and the lake.
Other things to note
Feel close to nature, relax, disconnect to connect, rejuvenate in this unique surrounding. Feel the true Icelandic countryside calmness of birds chirping, rivers flowing and trees in the wind. Explore the countryside area, walk down to the lake and take a swim, relax with a good book & meditate and enjoy the unique experience
The hot tub offers natural hot spring water and a view of mountains and the lake. Make sure it is not too hot when you enter into the hot tub.
You will need a car to access the house. There is parking space in front of the house.
In winter (November to April), a 4×4 is necessary.
The closest grocery store is in 5 min drive, Þrastarlundur.
There can be a lot of flyes from mid June to mid July. We provide mosquito repellant etc. Therefore we ask that you keep the cabin doors closed as much as possible.
